Favorite TV Shows of 2023 in Colorado

Fact Checked by Michael Peters

Americans can gather around few elements of the national zeitgeist quite like their favorite television programs, which can unite people from far-flung places unlike most other forms of entertainment.

Whether it be streaming shows, such as Disney+ program “The Mandalorian” or Apple TV’s “Ted Lasso,” or more traditional television programs like HBO’s “The Last Of Us” and “Succession,” there’s no shortage of favorites across the country.

BetColorado.com took a break from Colorado sports betting and utilized IMDB’s list of the Top 50 most watched TV shows in the United States during 2023 as a starting point for the research project, as well as AhRefs to finalize the Top 5 most searched shows. The shows were “The Last of Us,” “Ted Lasso,” “The Mandalorian,” “Succession,” and “The Bear.” We then used Google Trends to search each TV show to see the highest level of interest of each state for the show. After completing the trends since Jan. 1, 2023, we were able to average out the results to get the top TV shows for each state.

What is Colorado’s Favorite TV Show?

The Centennial State followed national trends by picking “The Last Of Us” as the No. 1 TV program, with 27% of searches centering around the HBO post-apocalyptic thriller. If Colorado betting apps took wagers on such things, “The Last Of US” would be a huge national favorite.

Rounding out the top three among Colorado’s favorite television shows were “Ted Lasso,” which garnered 26% of searches, followed by “The Mandalorian,” which finished at 19% to round out the list.

Of the states surveyed, all but seven picked “The Last Of Us” as their No. 1 choice for top TV programs, with “Succession” taking home the top spot in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, while “Ted Lasso” was the top pick in Maine, Maryland and Vermont.
