How to Bet on the NBA in Colorado

Betting on the NBA is as simple as any other sport and after reading this section, you'll be ready to place your first wager.

Choose Your App

First things first - you need to figure out what Colorado betting apps you want to use. Because of the popularity of the NBA, all operators have plenty of ways to get in on the action. If you're planning on sticking to wagers like moneylines and spreads, you'll find those everywhere. For those looking for player props, live bets, and other similar markets, it's worth checking out multiple operators because the depth and variety will be different from site to site.

Here are a few of my favorite apps for betting on the NBA and where each stands out:

Regardless of the types of wagers you want to place, I always recommend signing up for multiple betting apps. This will allow you to compare NBA odds and betting lines to find the best price and, therefore, the best potential payout.

Claim Your Welcome Offer

Unless specifically stated, all Colorado betting promos can be used for NBA wagers. In addition to the new user welcome offers shown below, existing customers can expect to find ongoing promotions throughout the season. This will include things like profit boosts, bet insurance, and more.

Pick Your Wager

After you've decided which operator you want to go with and claimed the sign-up bonus, you're ready to place your bet! The wager types listed below are just a handful of the most popular kinds of bets and not an all-encompassing list.

  • Spread - You can think of the spread as an attempt for sportsbooks to "even the playing field". The team that is favored will essentially have points subtracted from their total, while the other team will have points added. For example, if the Nuggets were listed as -6.5 on the spread, this means they would have to win by at least 7 points to cover the spread. If Denver was +2.5-point underdogs, they could lose the game by two points and still cover the spread.
  • Total - When betting on the total, or over/under, you're wagering on the number of combined points between two teams. If the total were 146.5, over bettors would need at least 147 points to win their wager while under bettors would need 146 or fewer.
  • Moneyline - The simplest bet in sports, the moneyline is just betting on who you think will win the game.
  • Parlays - An NBA parlay is when you combine two or more wagers into a single bet slip. The allure of combining multiple bets, referred to as legs, is the odds increase with each selection added. The downside is each of your legs have to hit for a successful parlay, making these types of wagers riskier than straight bets.
  • Player Props - Instead of betting on the outcome of a particular game, player props allow you to wager on statistics of individual players. This could be something like Nikola Jokic points, rebounds, and assists or the number of three-pointers Jamal Murray has in a given game.
  • Futures - As the name implies, futures markets are centered around bets that typically won't be settled until the end of the season. Futures wagers include markets like the championship, conference winners, and MVP award winner.
