Our Colorado sportsbook promos are in heavy use with the NFL regular season underway. It’s time to wonder which starting quarterback in the 32-team league will soon be out of a job.
Whether it be a veteran placeholder like Jacoby Brissett of the New England Patriots or Gardner Minshew II of the Las Vegas Raiders or a player on the wrong end of their career like Deshaun Watson or Daniel Jones, there’s no shortage of options when it comes to the first QB to ride the pine in 2024.
With that in mind, BetColorado.com used our Colorado sports betting mindset to develop some hypothetical odds on which NFL starting quarterback will soon no longer hold such a distinction, with the aforementioned players all ranking at the top of this week’s list.
Quarterback | Odds | Percent Chance |
Jacoby Brissett (Patriots) | +300 | 25.0% |
Gardner Minshew II (Raiders) | +400 | 20.0% |
Deshaun Watson (Browns) | +500 | 16.7% |
Daniel Jones (Giants) | +600 | 14.3% |
Bo Nix (Broncos) | +1250 | 7.4% |
Will Levis (Titans) | +1250 | 7.4% |
The Field | +900 | 10.0% |

The Week 2 frontrunners to get sacked first include Brissett (+300), Minshew (+400), Watson (+500) and Jones (+600), speaking to the harsh realities that come with being listed at QB1 in the NFL.
Brissett got a win in Week 1 with the Patriots but was held to 121 passing yards and no touchdowns in New England’s 16-10 upset win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the Queen City, leading many to expect rookie QB Drake Maye to take his place sooner rather than later.
In Sin City, Minshew looked downright offensive under center, going 25/33 for 257 yards while posting a QBR of 29.8 (out of 100) in Las Vegas’ 22-10 loss in Inglewood against the Los Angeles Chargers.
There was no happy ending for Watson, who was the butt of countless jokes on social media Sunday after throwing two interceptions and posting a QBR of 9.4 in Cleveland’s 33-17 demolition at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys at home, while Jones looked just as lost as ever under center in New York’s 28-6 shellacking at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings.
That’s because Jones had a QBR of 17.4 in New York’s 22-point home loss in Week 1, with the former Duke Blue Devil hitting on 22/42 passes (52.4%) for 186 yards and zero touchdowns, while hitting two Minnesota defensive backs in stride to bury any chance of a comeback at the Meadowlands on Sunday afternoon.
Longshots to get benched first include rookie Bo Nix of the Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans second-year QB Will Levis, who are listed at +1250 apiece to ride the pine first in 2024.
Any plans of winning in the Emerald City on Sunday were thoroughly nixed by Nix, who threw for 138 yards and two picks in his NFL debut (which Denver lost to the Seattle Seahawks, 26-20), while Levis was outdone in the Windy City by No. 1 pick Caleb Williams throwing for 127 yards and a touchdown (to two picks) in a 24-17 loss, posting a QBR of 31.1 and a 59.4% completion rate in the road loss to put the final touch on this week’s edition of NFL QBs that could be out of a job before long.
