What Are Colorado Residents Favorite Cities To Visit?

Fact Checked by Michael Peters

With the summer months firmly upon us and the mercury eking up, there’s a natural desire to hit the road (or the skies) and see the country.

For residents of Colorado, a trio of cities emerge when you look at the state’s travel patterns, revealing clear favorites for travel destinations.

Whether it be an entertainment mecca like Las Vegas, or a regional metropolis like Phoenix, there are patterns to be discerned from the cities Coloradans search out the most.

BetColorado.com took a break from covering Colorado sports betting and utilized Google Trends to determine the most searched cities by each state using the term “Flights To” and finding the most often searched city at the end of the phrase.

After completing the trends over the past 12 months (from June 25, 2022, to June 25, 2023), we were able to find results to get the top 3 cities for Colorado.

It’s worth noting cities within the state were not included.

Colorado’s Favorite Cities to Visit

Rank City
1Las Vegas
2Phoenix
3Chicago

Visiting Vegas Never Gets Old

The overall favorite travel spot for Colorado residents was the Sin City, which is of little surprise given the city’s cavalcade of entertainment and sports options.

Las Vegas still wins out as a destination despite the prevalence of Colorado betting apps.

After that, Phoenix and Chicago are the others residents of the Centennial State searched for the most, which likely has to do with the regional ties the state has with Arizona and family and entertainment connections with the Windy City.

Given Las Vegas’ one-stop setup for casino gaming, concerts, shows and renowned restaurants, it’s natural to see the city on any state’s favorite to visit list.

The same is true with Chicago, given the city’s professional sports teams, can’t-miss culinary fare and arts and culture scene.

The inclusion of Phoenix seems like an odd choice, given the city’s searing summertime heat, but likely has to do with family ties to the region and the Valley’s burgeoning entertainment scene.

All told, there are countless destinations Colorado residents can hit without having to spend too long in an airplane — from the beaches of California to the Great Lakes and Gulf Coast. If you want to make sure you get your sports bets in before you travel, make sure to check out Colorado sportsbook promo codes before takeoff as the state you're traveling to may not allow sports betting.
