Colorado sports betting delivered its strongest year yet in 2025, setting new records for both total wagers and tax revenue.
For fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, the state collected $36.8 million in sports betting taxes, roughly a 21% increase compared to the previous year. The jump reflects steady growth in sports wagering across the state and continued expansion of the legal betting market.

Wagering Sees New High
Wagering volume reached new heights as well. Bettors in Colorado placed more than $6.3 billion in wagers during the fiscal year, topping the previous record by nearly $287 million.
On a calendar year basis, sportsbooks reported about $470.1 million in gross revenue from more than $5.19 billion in total handle, further cementing 2025 as the most successful year since Colorado sports betting launched.
New Tax Revenue Record
Monthly figures also highlighted the market’s momentum. October 2025 produced a new single month record for tax revenue, with more than $4.75 million generated from $680.5 million in wagers. That engagement carried into late fall, showing consistency beyond the peak betting periods.
State gaming data released in early January 2026 confirmed the trend continued into November, when Colorado sports betting handle reached nearly $695 million, a 7.2% increase from the previous November. That growth helped push the fiscal year totals past historic benchmarks.
