How Unsafe Is Dick's Sporting Goods Park for Fans? Ranked MLS Stadiums
Fact Checked by Thomas Leary

While few people would tell you that they come to Commerce City for the scenery, itā€™s safe to say that the home grounds of the Centennial Stateā€™s lone MLS franchise are far from ideal, with Dickā€™s Sporting Goods Park finding itself among unenvied company in 2024.

Thatā€™s because the Colorado Rapidsā€™ home stadium was recently named the sixth least safe grounds in the 29-team MLS, with a total score of 91.35, putting the 17-year-old facility in Commerce Stadium between the Philadelphia Unionā€™s Subaru Park (100.40) and Vancouver Whitecaps FCā€™s BC Place (90.93).

Based on the MLS-wide safety figures, the Rapidsā€™ troubles go beyond the box score, despite Colorado currently having the 15th best MLS Cup odds on Bet365 Colorado at +4000, thanks to the unfriendly confines at Dickā€™s Sporting Goods Park.

BetColorado.com created a ranking system to find the safest MLS stadiums for spectators. We created a ranking system that factors in the crime rating, total crime index, fanbase ranking and crime grade. All metrics are based on the exact city and zip code of each teamā€™s stadium or arena.
